Abstract:
Agricultural technology is changing rapidly. Farm machinery and production facilities are constantly being improved. Agricultural applications suitable for photovoltaic (PV) solutions are numerous. PV solution is the best solution for remote agricultural need such as water pumping for crops or livestock, low deep water fishing and rice husking etc. The purpose of this paper is to design and analyse the performance of solar powered integrated farming system. A solar powered integrated farming system consists of some basic components. These are PV panels, pump and pump controller, motor and motor controller and other equipment for lightening and cooling system. Solar powered integrated farming system could be a sustainable solution to utilize solar energy round the year. To minimize the power loss and project cost, high voltage thin film solar panel is used. A high capacity three phase inverter is designed to run the modified three phase water pump and motor. Total system of 7 kW capacity is implemented and tested in the field. The prospect of solar powered integrated farming system in Bangladesh is shown with economic feasibility. Based on the experimental data, the performance of the system is also analyzed and presented in this paper.
